Fiji... island of bliss...

Fiji! Our holiday from our holiday.

We had a really long day on Wednesday, travelling from New York, to Atlanta, to Los Angeles, to Nadi. Finally arriving in Nadi at 5.30am on Friday morning.
Thursday 28th July didn't exist for us.

FRIDAY 29th July: Arrived in Fiji very early in the morning. Caught a taxi to our resort and then had to jump in a boat to take us across the river to our resort! We couldn't check in until later that afternoon so we put the bags down and set up camp by the pool. After a couple of hours of reading and relaxing, I enquired about the activities we wanted to do. Turns out the last Scuba Dive to happen before we leave was right then and there so James went off to do that and I was left at the resort to do nothing for a few hours until our room was ready.
Unfortunately James took the keys to our bags so I couldn't get my swimmers out to go for a swim! I walked around the Sonaisali resort for the morning and just chilled out. Evetunally getting into my room and going to sleep. I was exhausted. But not before booking James and I in for our Couples Indulgence at the Frangipani Spa.
At 5pm James had returned and we enjoyed an hour long massage followed by a jacuzzi milk tub and then a refreshing shower. So good.
We had a lovely dinner and watched the sunset and then headed in for an early night. Fiji is beautiful.

SATURDAY: After a bit of a sleep in, we got up and caught the boat and bus into the town and did some market shopping. The market owners were very pushy and it didn't go down well with me but we bargained a few things and then had a nice indian lunch at a cafe before hopping back into the bus and heading back to the resort. On go the swimmers and some time by the pool. Swam up to our swim up bar and just chilled out for a bit.
We then went for a nice horse ride along the beach. Was quite peaceful and relaxing but when given permission to go galloping down the beach my horse didn't want a bar of it! LOL. Anyways, after the ride we decided to have a relaxing night so we got takeaway pizza from the bar and went back to the room and watched some movies.

SUNDAY: It rained all night but thankfully cleared up and we were able to sit by the pool and relax all day. We got another massage at sunset on the beach and all i could hear was the waves lapping on the shore. So beautiful and peaceful and calming. Pretty much that is all we did all day.

MONDAY: Home. 5 hour flight home and then back to reality.

I have had an amazing adventure with my wonderful man James and if I could do it all again I would in a heart beat. So many amazing things seen and done and passion has been built for the future and where we want to be and what we want to do and appreciation of life and this world we live in.
You might ask me what was the highlight? I can honestly say it was all good. Every bit of it. I don't have a favourite piece of it because it was all amazing. Or otherwise described as (put on your best american accent here) Awesome!

Thanks for reading my posts if you have been. Hope it's been somewhat interesting to you!

Much love.
